Product Information

HDMI Fiber Optic Cable, Transmits HDMI Signals via Fiber, 30 meter (100 foot)

This 30 meter (~100 foot) HDMI cable is unique from others in that it's entire run is a fiber optic cable with small built in converters on either end to plug standard HDMI cables in to. The maximum length for a 28 AWG (American Wire Gauge) HDMI cable is 15 feet. If you want to go a longer distance than that, you need a thicker gauge wire which makes the cable very stiff and thick, or you need an amplifier/booster. Here is a third strategy for breaking the rules of maximum length for HDMI. One long fiber optic cable with HDMI female ends.

The HDMI cable is the newest and best digital video connection on the market. HDMI is the only cable that can transfer uncompressed high-definition video and multi channel digital audio in resolutions higher than 1080p. HDMI cables are convenient because they will allow the transfer of digital audio and video in a single cable, permitting a less confusing mess of wires and a cleaner entertainment center. The HDMI connector is small, which makes it ideal for installers and in-wall use. HDMI cables can be used with any device with HDMI such as HDTVs, DVD players, Blu-ray players, game consoles (PS3, Xbox 360), cable and satellite set top boxes, DVRs, computers, etc.
