I used it to hook up a playstation 2 to a computer monitor. The only catch is that your computer monitor has to accept sync on green RGB signals. All Sony models do that I'm aware of, and many Samsung, Mitsubishi, and NEC monitors do as well. Only works for progressive scan compatible PS2 games. You can also use a program called GS Mode Selector to put most PS2 games into progressive scan, for games that don't have the option in a menu.

I bought this to be able to run component input to my video projector. The suggested part in the owner's manual cost over $30 online. This works great at less than $4. Customers should know that the vga item you are using has to be able to accept component input. I believe most computer monitors do not.
