Single link DVI cables are capable of resolutions of 1920 x 1200 which will cover 1080p - enough to satisfy most HD fans. For even higher resolutions, dual-link DVI cables can support up to 2560 x 1600. DVI has superseded the analog signal carrying VGA type cables for some manufacturers.
